Community Food Outreach
The Community Food Outreach is a food bank which serves anyone in the
BCLUW
School District as well as all of southeast Hardin County. The
food bank distributes
food on a monthly basis the third Tuesday of each
month at 1:00 pm to anyone who comes. The food bank also
distributes
food at other times on an emergency basis to anyone in need. The
Community Food
Outreach is housed in the basement of the Union
Community Church. The Food Bank receives donations from the
school
children in our own
school district, from some other local churches and
especially from
the members of the Union Community Church. The
Willing
Workers sponsor and staff the Community Food Outreach.
The Food Bank is in the kitchen of the Community Church's old
basement
Social Room. Some of the cupboard have been
removed and replaced
with shelves. Plans have been made to add
more shelves. There are ample
supplies of all types of
food available. If you have a need, or know of
anyone else who
could use additional food, please encourage them to
phone Annamaria
Hauser at 486-2394 or Dianna Haywood at 858-3077.

Church Mission Fund
On the last Sunday of each month, a church Mission collection is
taken during the regular church service. Sometimes
this monthly collection is designated for a special mission
project. The Mission Board
determines how these funds are disbursed. For many years
the Whiteheads have been one of the Church's mission projects.
The Church Mission fund has also supported the Discretionary
Fund, Outreach Africa, and
people who are in need of funds because of medical
expenses, fires, or other disasters.

Local Mission Outreach
| Local Mission Outreach is an account in the Union Community Church
Foundation. The gift agreement that established this account
limits its use to people in the city of Union and the surrounding
rural area and those in the BCLUW school district. Funds
are given to the elementary and Middle school Principals to be used for young
children. Other disbursements are determined by the
Foundation Board according to needs in our local community. The Local Outreach is funded by gifts from
members of our Congregation and from Church Organizations.
If you need financial help, contact Rev. Rich Schill. All
disbursements from this fund are confidential. |
Discretionary Fund
More than any other Mission Fund in our Church, the Discretionary
Fund strives to follow Christ's instructions "whatever you do unto
these the least of my brethren, you also do unto me."
Money from this fund may be given to anyone in need from the
stranger at our door to a member of our own congregation.
The Pastor and members of the Church Board are authorized make
disbursements from this fund so that when people are in urgent need
we can provide money at once. All disbursements
from this fund are confidential. |
